$\nu_{\mu}\rightarrow\nu_{e}$ oscillation study in MINOS

ORAL

Abstract

The MINOS (Main Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search) is a long baseline neutrino experiment using the NuMI neutrino beam to study neutrino oscillations. MINOS will be able to improve the limit on the neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{13}$ by searching for an electron neutrino appearance signal in the far detector from $\nu_{\mu}$ beams. We may make the first measuremeant of $\theta_{13}$ with improved proton intensity if $\theta_{13}$ is found to be sufficiently large. I will present the method to identify electron neutrinos and show the systematics analysis using the MINOS near detector data.
