Search for Technicolor Production at D\O

ORAL

Abstract

One of the most important unresolved issues in particle physics is the nature of electroweak symmetry breaking. In the Standard Model, this question is addressed by the Higgs field, but alternate models have been proposed. One such model is Technicolor, which predicts a wide array of heavy composite particles. A search for $\rho_{TC} \to W\pi_{TC} \to \mu\nu bq$ in data collected at Run II of the D\O detector is presented, and a limit is set on the production of Technicolor production in $p \overline{p}$ collisions.
