Search for Gravitational Wave Bursts in Data from the LIGO S4 Run

ORAL

Abstract

In early 2005, the LIGO Scientific Collaboration conducted a fourth science run, called S4, with the LIGO and GEO 600 gravitational wave detectors. This run featured improved sensitivities and fairly high duty cycles for all detectors. Data from the three LIGO detectors has been used to carry out a search for short-duration gravitational wave signals of arbitrary form with frequency content between 64 Hz and 1600 Hz. Results from this search will be presented, including studies of the sensitivity of the search for various signal waveforms.
