Stackslide search for continuous gravitational waves using LIGO S4 data

The LIGO Scientific Collaboration has developed several methods to search for continuous gravitational-wave signals, for example from rotating asymmetric neutron stars. We present an overview of the Stackslide method, and a status report on its application to LIGO data taken during the fourth science run (S4). Progress on plans to incorporate this method into future hierarchical searches will also be presented.
