Measurements of the Exclusive Decays of the $\Upsilon~(5S)$ to $B^{(*)}\bar{B}^{(*)}(\pi)(\pi)$ Final States and Improved $B_s^*$ Mass Measurement

Abstract

From 420 $\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$ of data collected on the $\Upsilon$(5S) resonance using the CLEO III detector, we measure production fractions of $B^{(*)}\bar{B}^{(*)}(\pi)(\pi)$ final states and find that $B^*\bar{B}^*:B\bar{B}^*:B\bar{B}$ are produced with a ratio of about $3:1:<1$, consistent with predictions of the Unitarized Quark Model. Limits on the production of other final states will also be presented. Our results are also use to extract the most precise $B_s^*$ mass value to date.
