Search for Gravitational Waves associated with the SGR1806-20 hyperflare using the Hanford LIGO detectors

On Dec.27th, 2004, SGR1806-20 emitted a record flare; at the time of the event the Hanford (WA) H1 LIGO detector was in operation. We present the status of the search for gravitational-wave emission associated with this extraordinary event.
