Dalitz plot analysis of $B^{\pm} \to K^0_S \pi^\pm \pi^0$

We report on a Dalitz plot analysis of the decay $B^{\pm} \to K^0_S \pi^\pm \pi^0$ performed by the BABAR experiment using a data sample with 383 million $B$ meson pairs. An isobar model including vector and scalar components is fitted to the data. From the fitted amplitudes the component branching fractions and CP charge asymmetries are extracted as well as constraints on some phases. How these measurements could possibly impact the determination of CKM parameters will be discussed.
