Measurement of the charge asymmetry of the $W\rightarrow\mu\nu$ decay channel using the D\O\ detector

Abstract
We describe preliminary results of the measurement of the $W\rightarrow\mu\nu$ production charge asymmetry in proton- antiproton collisions with a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider using the 1.1 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected between 2006 and 2007 using the D\O\ detector. The asymmetry is measured in three muon momentum bins: $20 < p_{T}\leq 25$~GeV, $25 < p_{T}\leq 35$~GeV, and $p_{T}\geq 35$~GeV. With more data and better particle reconstruction, the measurement will provide a significant improvement in the statistical uncertainty compared with the previous measurement from D\O.
