Scientific Careers in Public Policy

Abstract

Congress is built to respond to the will of its constituents. Representatives and their staffs are awash in information. If scientists do not communicate regularly and effectively with Congress, policies requiring sound scientific underpinnings will be ill-crafted. As a panelist, I will represent scientific careers in public policy, and will also address how civic engagement can be woven into the fabric of any career path.
