Status of Dimuon Analysis in the MINOS Near Detector
ORAL
Abstract
We present the status of neutrino induced dimuon events in the MINOS Near Detector (ND). The ND has 3.2M identified $\nu_\mu$-CC events with an identified single negative muon with an average neutrino enerrgy ($E_\nu$) of 10.5 GeV. The dimuon analysis focuses on the neutrino charm-production where the charmed hadron decays into a positive-muon. Estimates of signal (charm) efficiency and background, and sensitivity to physics parameters such as strage quark distribution and the mass parameter of the charm quark will be presented.
