Search for bursts from cosmic (super)strings in LIGO S4 data

Abstract

Cosmic (super)strings produce powerful bursts of gravitational waves that may be detectable by LIGO. In this talk I will discuss the methods and results of a search for such bursts in LIGO fourth science run (S4) data.
