Effective Four-Dimensional Actions in Braneworld Scenarios

We discuss a general method to efficiently derive four dimensional effective actions from higher dimensional models with branes in a long wavelength limit, and discuss some specific applications to models that yield a coupling between dark energy and dark matter.
