Beller Lectureship Talk: International Scientific Collaboration

I shall review the potential scientific, financial and political benefits of international scientific collaboration, and the problems that it can encounter. The second part of the talk will focus on large collaborative construction projects, and lessons that can be learned from the experience of the SSC, ALMA, the LHC and ITER.
