A precision measurement of the mass of the $W$ boson at the DZero experiment

ORAL

Abstract

The D0 experiment's measurement of the mass of the $W$ boson in the electron decay channel is currently in its final stages. This precision measurement is the result of an analysis of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$ of the Tevatron data taken between 2002 and 2006. One of the potential sources of significant systematic error in this measurement lies in the modeling of the hadronic recoil. We present the salient features and results of this analysis with an emphasis on the recoil.
