Flavor separation at large x

I will discuss theoretical and phenomenological issues related to parton distribution extraction at large values of the parton fractional momentum $x$ within the framework of global QCD fits. I will review recent results on up and down quarks, gluons and intrinsic heavy flavors, and the main theoretical uncertainties involved. I will highlight theoretical and experimental ways to improve their measurement.
