A Decade in DC: The Congressional Science Fellowship and Beyond
COFFEE_KLATCH · Invited
Abstract
The APS Congressional Science Fellowship presents a remarkable opportunity to make the transition from practicing science to developing public policy. A number of former science fellows have followed their fellowship tenures with further service in Washington, DC, taking advantage of the different options for working in science policy. I will present a sampling of my experiences in this career path, including in the legislative and executive branches and in the non-profit sector, along with perspectives on the similarities and differences between doing physics and doing policy.
