Near Threshold Pion Electroproduction at High $Q^2$

ORAL

Abstract

Near threshold pion electroproduction as a function of $Q^2$ can be written in terms of new form factors. These new generalized form factors $G_{1}^{\pi N}$ and $G_{2}^{\pi N}$ have been predicted using light cone sum rules in the chiral limit for the reactions $ep \to eN\pi$ in the $Q^2$ 1-10 $\textrm{GeV}^2$ range. It's an experiment at Jefferson Lab that has been conducted using the CLAS spectrometer to measure near threshold pion electroproduction as a function of $Q^2$. The differential cross sections and the extracted electromagnetic multipoles and form factors will be presented.
