Evaluation of a two year undergraduate research experience

We present a longitudinal study of a two year undergraduate research experience. While the project involves open ended research in thin films, we believe our experiences can easily be representative of other research areas. We observed a connection between complexity and amount of tasks versus interests and performance and remark on the factors that influence the outcome.
