Upper Limits on GRB Flux from the Fermi Large Area Telescope

POSTER

Abstract

The Large Area Telescope (LAT) on the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope has observed over a dozen GRBs since launch. This is a small fraction of the total seen at lower gamma-ray energies by the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM), also on Fermi. We present upper limits on the high-energy fluxes of bright hard-spectrum GRBs which might be expected to be observed by LAT based on an extrapolation of the low energy spectrum to high energies. Possible mechanisms for a deficit of high-energy photons are discussed.
