Theoretical remarks on top quark physics

I will present a theoretical overview of top quark physics. I will discuss the status of theoretical descriptions of top quark production and decay at hadron colliders, with an emphasis on recent theoretical improvements. In addition, I will describe the use of top quarks as tools for probing new dynamics and states.
