Simulations of coalescing binary black holes: Key Elements of Robustness
ORAL
Abstract
The first equal mass non-spinning BBH run done with the Spectral Einstein Code (SpEC) required extensive hand-tuning, experimentation, and a large amount of human time. Today we are running complete simulations in large numbers, continuously expanding the boundaries of what we can reach in the parameter space of Binary Black Hole systems. The talk will highlight some of the essential elements of what made this difference in SpEC.
