Measurement of initial state fluctuations at RHIC

Abstract

The low viscosity of the Quark Gluon Plasma phase created in heavy ion collisions at RHIC makes it possible to resolve structure in the initial conditions through correlation and power spectra measurements. These measurements provide an ideal method to learn about the structure of the initial state and the transport properties of the subsequent expansion phase. I'll review measurements related to the fluctuations in the initial conditions of heavy ion collisions at RHIC.
