Open Heavy Flavor in the QGP at RHIC and LHC

It has been a half decade since the first observations of a strong suppression and flow of leptons from open heavy quark mesons at RHIC. The suppression reaches the same magnitude of light quark made mesons measurements, contradicting the up to date energy loss models which describe the light quark suppression. New measurements of semi-leptonic decays and fully reconstructed $D$ mesons at LHC confirmed the RHIC findings with one order of magnitude larger collision energy. This presentation will give an overview of the recent results from RHIC and LHC including efforts to separate charm and bottom contributions, the measurements of fully reconstructed $D$ mesons, correlations and b-tagged jets. Detector upgrades and techniques will also be reported.
