Inclusive Charged Pion Production at MINERvA

ORAL

Abstract

The production of charged pions by neutrinos interacting on heavy nuclei is of great interest in nuclear physics and neutrino oscillation experiments. MINER$\nu$A, a fine-grained scintillator tracking detector that sits in the few-GeV NuMI beamline at Fermilab, is well-suited to study inclusive and exclusive pion production channels on a variety of nuclear targets. This talk presents the current status of the neutrino and antineutrino inclusive charged pion production cross section measurements in MINER$\nu$A.
