Commissioning and Status of the CEBAF 12 GeV Upgrade at Jefferson Lab
COFFEE_KLATCH · Invited
Abstract
The Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF) at Jefferson Lab has recently undergone a major upgrade designed to double the maximum beam energy from 6 GeV to 12 GeV. This upgrade included development and construction of 10 new high-gradient superconducting RF cryomodules, construction of a new detector hall, and substantial magnet and instrumentation modifications. The upgrade project was completed in late 2014, and beam commissioning and operations have begun. This talk describes the 12 GeV upgrade, the commissioning philosophy and status, and beam parameters achieved so far for physics detector commissioning and operations.
