Search for $t \bar{t}$ Resonaces in Run 2 of ATLAS

Abstract

The status of the search for $t \bar{t}$resonances in Run 2 of ATLAS is presented. The analysis uses data selected using the lepton plus jets decay channel. Hadronically decaying top quarks are selected either by using three small-radius jets (resolved reconstruction) or one large-radius jet (boosted reconstruction). We also investigate the use of semi-boosted reconstruction to increase statistics in the search. In this case, two of the three quarks from the hadronically decaying top quark are contained in a large-radius jet while the third is identified by a small-radius jet.
