The Aurora: Electron Transport in the Upper Atmosphere

Abstract
A new approach for solving the electron transport equation in the upper atmosphere is given. A simplified problem is solved exactly, ensuring the numerical solution is correct. The method is used to solve the electron transport problem, given a solar wind distribution. Albedos, scattering rates, and energy deposition are calculated.
