Search for Displaced Leptons in Proton-Proton Collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV

Abstract

We present the status of a search for long-lived particles decaying to leptons using 13 TeV center-of-mass energy proton-proton collisions produced at the LHC. The final state of interest includes at least one electron and at least one muon, each having a transverse impact parameter greater than 200 microns. To maximize generality, no requirements are placed on any other final state objects. We present the expected sensitivity of this search to stop quark mass and lifetime using data collected by the CMS detector in 2016 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 16.1 /fb.
