Abstract

In July 2017 the sixth International Conference on Women in Physics was held in Birmingham UK. This conference brought together over 200 women from over 40 countries to discuss issues facing women in physics across the globe. The US delegation included 25 members, 13 of whom attended the conference. Each country presents a poster on a topic relating to women in physics in their country. In addition, the US delegation created a website (https://genderbias.compadre.org/) and discussion forum for gender bias in physics and debuted the project at the conference. This talk will share the US data, poster and website, as well as the themes and outcomes from the conference. Highlights included a surprise visit from Malala Yousafzai, presentation of the IOP President's Medal to Jocelyn Bell Burnell, and workshops on implicit bias and intersectionality.
