Nucleon-resonance studies with CLAS and CLAS12

ORAL · Invited

Abstract

Baryon spectroscopy is an essential tool in the study of nucleon resonances. The spectrum of broad and overlapping nucleon excitations can be greatly clarified with photoproduction experiments, especially with the use of polarization observables. An overview of recent results from such measurements with the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS) at Jefferson Lab and plans with the new CLAS12 detector will be presented.
