Preliminary results for η/η' photoproduction cross sections between 3 and 6 GeV at the GlueXexperiment
ORAL
Abstract
The GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab studies the light meson spectrum and searches for hybrid and exotic mesons. As part of this program we determine photoproduction cross sections in a new, previously unexplored kinematic regime, thus providing fundamental information about underlying reaction mechanisms. During the Fall 2018 run period, a subset of low energy photoproduction data has been collected over 4 days. The status of cross section analysis for photoproduced η/η' mesons will be presented for beam energies between 2.9 and 5.9 GeV. The η mesons have been identified through two decay channels, γγ and π+ π− π0. The η' mesons have been identified via the decay channels, π+ π− η, and π+ π− γ. From these data, branching ratios were extracted that can be compared to published Particle Data Group (PDG) values and provide calibration information.
