Career Path for Physicists.

Abstract

A degree in physics not only offers excellent problem solving and analytical skills, but also offers versatility in transferring those skills to a variety of other fields such as engineering, technology, data analytics, finance, education, military, medicine, business, and law. With a median annual wage for physicists over 120,000 USD in 2018, the bureau of labor and statistics projects that the overall employment of physicists to grow at 9 percent between 2018 to 2028, faster than the average for all occupations. In this presentation a variety of career opportunities in industry, research and development, and academia will be discussed with an emphasis on how the skills acquired as a physicist can be effectively applied in a variety of career fields.
