Module Production for the UT

Abstract

The LHCb upgrade is based on all detectors being able to output data in real time at a 40 MHz rate. This requires replacing sensors and kapton hybrid circuits containing the SALT electronic chips that processes the data from the sensors. Here I explain that the hybrid currents have ASICs mounted on them in Milano and shipped to Syracuse where the hybrids and silicon sensors are assembled, wire-bonded, potted and tested.
