When You Need Help, Call Alvin

Abstract

On superconducting magnet technology, Alvin Tollestrup and I collaborated over many years. I will specifically discuss his help on the “Palmer Magnet” alternative for Isabelle. Not only did he offer advice, but negotiated a Fermilab gift of enough Rutherford cable to build the prototype. I will also mention our work on Muon Colliders.
