Panel Discussion Topic

Abstract

Advancement in physics is often conducted on global scales, involving multiple countries and hundreds to thousands of scientists and engineers. By leveraging knowledge and resources, sharing costs, and generating innovative ideas and solutions by collaborators from different training and backgrounds, global projects can make progress the fastest. Despite these benefits, there are various challenges including coordination and management challenges, and education challenges. The APS Panel on Science on a Global Scale will discuss benefits and challenges based on past and current experiences and to look for a way forward.
