Richard A. Isaacson Award in Gravitational-Wave Science (2021): Opening the gravitational-wave window: a personal perspective
COFFEE_KLATCH · Invited
Abstract
The ability to detect astronomically produced gravitational waves with instruments built for that purpose provides a new way to observe the universe. But this did not happen by accident. It required decades-long efforts by thousands of people across many fields of science and technology. My view of the essential ingredients for our current era of discovery will be presented.
