Abstract

The study CP violation and rare decays of beauty and charm hadrons provides a vast body of observations that challenge the Standard Model and seek indirect evidence for new physics. Selected recent highlights and prospects with the imminent and future upgrades will be presented. In particular, I will give some examples of new insights on QCD gained through the study of exotic hadrons containing one or more charm or beauty quarks. Moreover I will discuss searches for new physics, involving possible contributions to neutral meson mixing constraints on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements, and rare decays, with some emphasis on recent data on anomalies in b-hadron decay.
