Abstract
The number of degrees earned in the US continues to increase with around 1600 physics PhDs entering the US job market every year. As mentors, we are tasked with the responsibility to help our mentees be successful in achieving their career goals, whatever it may be. I will review trends and discuss some career paths for physics degrees holders, present statistics on the employment sectors entered, and briefly outline the accompanying salaries. This interactive workshop will be focused on developing strategies for mentoring students towards academic and non academic careers and provide some resources for supporting students and mentees.
