Laser spectroscopy with lithium atoms in an undergraduate lab
POSTER
Abstract
We present highlights from an undergraduate laboratory using 671 nm diode lasers to study spectra of lithium atoms. Faraday rotation spectra, the Hanle effect, atom beam deflection, and saturation absorption spectra are demonstrated. We also describe how the extended cavity diode lasers and heat-pipe lithium vapor cells were constructed.
