Demonstration of an architecture for neutral atom quantum computing combining in-place, nearest-neighbor entangling operations with mid-circuit qubit rearrangement
ORAL
Abstract
Infleqtion's Sqale neutral atom quantum computer implements nearest-neighbor, individually addressed entangling gates and mid-circuit qubit rearrangement to enable flexible connectivity for quantum circuit execution. Site-resolved, in-place Rydberg entangling operations can enable key primitives for fault-tolerant operation including logical state preparation and syndrome and flag readout with zero or minimal qubit transport. With co-design of fault-tolerant operation protocols, this architecture aims to reduce latency associated with motion in zone-based shuttling systems. We present the latest results on the realization of this architecture, including performance metrics, ongoing system improvements, and characterization of performance on a set of logically encoded quantum circuits relative to unencoded baselines.
