The Field Structure of QED Bound States
POSTER
Abstract
Bound states in QFT have been treated by a number of different means, but a detailed quantum field theoretic description has not yet been found. We present here the Schrodinger wavefunctional formalism for QFT, distinct from operator space methods and the Feynman path integral approach, which allows us a view into the wave structure of QED bound states. We show that for the Schrodinger and Klein-Gordon fields, the one-particle Schrodinger and Klein-Gordon equations respectively are satisfied by normalized weight functions of single particle excitation wavefunctionals satisfying the Schrodinger functional equation. This leads us to expressions for bound one-particle state wavefunctionals.
