Drop impact of microbubbles suspensions

Abstract

Drop impact studies have a wide range of applications, many involving multiphase drops. We present here experiments on liquid drops with a suspension of monodisperse microbubbles inside falling by gravity and impacting, at different speeds, smooth dry surfaces. We use high speed imaging experiments and different microbubbles volume fraction inside the liquid drop to understand the spreading and retraction of these foam droplets.
