Relativistic shock surfing acceleration of ions at the oblique shock

It was shown in Lee et al (1996) that one of the important limitation for shock surfing acceleration of ions at the quasiperpendicular shock is due to the obliqueness of the shock wave. In this paper a critical obliqueness for the relativistic shock wave is found below which the energy gain by surfing acceleration is not limited by shock obliqueness. Lee et al., J. of Geophys.
