Preliminary analysis of coherent modes in NSTX using the motional Stark effect (MSE) diagnostic

Abstract
Magnetic and density perturbations in NSTX are analyzed using fast digitized data from the motional Stark effect diagnostic. Power spectra created from the fast digitized data are investigated over multiple sightlines for the presence of coherent modes. Frequency, amplitude, and phase of these modes are tracked as a function of time to characterize the oscillating component of the pitch angle and/or the intensity of the signal. Example cases of pitch angle oscillations and density fluctuations will be shown along with preliminary results where both may be present.
