The Solution of Boundary Layer Problems using Kruskal-Newton diagrams

Abstract

The use of Kruskal-Newton diagrams for the solution of differential equations is illustrated with examples from the physics of pattern formation and plasma physics. The scaling of boundary layers is rapidly determined, and a systematic means of simplifying the internal layer equations is obtained.
