Suppression of Double-Tearing Modes by Poloidal Shear Flows

Abstract
Suppression effects of shear flows on double tearing modes are investigated in a reduced resistive magnetohydrodynamics model. It is found that as poloidal flow shear increased, the growth of the magnetic island generated by the double tearing mode can be greatly suppressed.
