Ionization damping of linear waves in cold plasmas

POSTER

Abstract

For an arbitrary linear wave in cold plasma, an analytical model is proposed to describe wave damping caused by above-threshold ionization and recombination. When either of the two processes dominates, the wave energy is also found as a function of the frequency.
