Preliminary results from the Pleiades experiment

POSTER

Abstract

We present preliminary experimental results from the Pleiades experiments, which were performed on the National Ignition Facility. The experiments consist of a 3.5 mm diameter hohlraum, which is irradiated by 80 laser beams with a total of 360 kJ In 2.5 ns. On the end of the hohlraum is a 200 micron long, 2 mm diameter SiO2 foam. We will present the requirements of the campaign as well as the diagnostic configuration. We will present hohlraum temperature measurements as well as radiographic measurements.
