Soft X-ray Betatron Radiation from Laser Wakefield Acceleration

POSTER

Abstract

High-brightness betatron radiation generated by laser wakefield acceleration offers a compact, high resolution x-ray source with a broad range of interdisciplinary applications. Accurate modeling of betatron radiation depends on suitable underlying physical models and validation with experiment. We investigate several modeling techniques for betatron radiation in PIC codes and compare them to measured spectra in the soft x-ray wavelength region using a variety of simulation dimensionalities.
