X-Ray generation from Laser Wakefield Accelerators in the Multi-Petawatt Regime

ORAL

Abstract

The advent of multi-petawatt laser systems beginning to be available in the United States heralds new opportunities for laser driven particle accelerators and advanced light sources. We present some of the first experimental results from the ZEUS laser facility. Laser Wakefield Acceleration experiments were performed at the flagship TA1 experimental area. Electron and x-ray spectra were measured using new diagnostics to utilize the full capabilities of the facility. We will also discuss the scaling of electron and x-ray beam properties into the multi-petawatt regime.
